Welcome Back CUSD! - CUSD Insider

Welcome Back CUSD!

SPANISH VERSION  FIRST DAY PICS

Dear CUSD Students, Families, and Employees,

Welcome back to school! I hope today was a great start to what will be an outstanding year. Whether you are brand new to our District or a long-time student, we are proud to support you on your journey to graduation and deeply committed to ensuring you succeed in all aspects of your education and beyond.

As you settle into the new school year, we want you and your family to know that we are committed to helping all students build connections at school through world class programs and extracurricular activities, including athletics and visual and performing arts. It is important for us to ensure that every student feels a sense of belonging and finds activities and opportunities that make school engaging and rewarding.

This year we will also continue our work to increase CUSD’s overall english language arts and math scores and lower performance gaps between student demographic groups. Because of the incredible work of our teachers and classified staff, CUSD students are 47 points above standard in English language arts, and 17.2 points above standard in math on the California State Dashboard. Capistrano Unified students are achieving at high levels and our goal is for them to achieve at even greater levels.

I’m looking forward to sharing more about our district goals at the coffee chats and community forums we will have scheduled throughout the year. Until then, please know that we are working hard to make this the best year yet!

Sincerely,

Dr. Chris Brown
Superintendent

Sharing is caring!
