Important financial aid information for CUSD seniors

Calling all CUSD seniors- the application window for financial aid is now open! There are some important updates to the program all seniors should be aware of, and plenty of resources throughout the District to ensure they are prepared.

Financial aid is not just for students who need to take loans out for school, it can provide free money to students through grants and scholarships. There are millions of dollars left on the table each year dedicated for financial aid and all students need to do to see if they qualify is apply! There are many myths about financial aid, to debunk these myths check this out: 15 Myths We’re Busting About the Financial Aid Process.

California Assembly Bill 469 went into effect for the Class of 2023. This bill ensures that all seniors who have not opted out, complete a financial aid application by graduation.

Futureology is hosting financial aid workshops in the coming weeks to help walk students and families through the process, answer questions and provide helpful resources. Check out the full schedule below, you can attend at any school site, and visit the Futureology website for appointments.

 

Important dates:

  • March 2- Priority deadline for Cal Grants
  • June 30- Last day of financial aid for Class of 2023
