R.H. Dana recognized as Promising Practices School

R.H. Dana was recognized as a Promising Practices School by Solution Tree in April.  Jessicca Rodgers, the Solution Tree Executive Director, California State Office, presented the faculty with a commemorative flag during their weekly lunch meeting in the MPR. Principal Kristen Nelson and select teachers shared their perspectives on how the PLC work has helped change the school’s reputation and performance.

Professional Learning Communities (PLC)  are schools and districts in which educators recognize that the key to improved student success is a commitment by teachers to ongoing, job-embedded learning. Promising Practices is a solid initial step toward becoming a Model PLC at Work school. Promising Practices schools have strong evidence of the solid foundation required to become a Model PLC at Work and share at least one year of data that shows student achievement growth. To receive a Promising Practices recognition, a school must:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the PLC at Work® process.
  • Implement those concepts for at least one to two years.
  • Present clear evidence of improved student learning.
  • Explain the culture, practices, and structures of the school and submit it for consideration to the PLC Review Committee using our online submission process.

Sharing is caring!
