CUSD celebrated a special group of students at the second annual Most Inspiring Student awards on May 7 at the San Juan Hills theater.
The Most Inspiring Student program debuted in 2025 as a way to recognize those who have a unique and lasting impact on their campuses. Each school site selects one student who inspires others—someone whose actions, attitude, and presence positively shape their school community. Because inspiration can take many forms, the criteria are intentionally open to interpretation, and every student is eligible. This flexibility allows each school to honor a student who truly reflects its unique culture, values, and spirit.
A winning student is not defined solely by grades, awards, or titles, but by character. These students lead with integrity, demonstrate kindness, and uplift those around them. They may be the student who consistently includes others, stands up for what is right, or offers encouragement when it’s needed most. Some are natural leaders who take initiative in clubs, athletics, or service projects, while others lead quietly through their resilience, work ethic, and positive outlook.
