          Who says you can’t play and learn? Over 60 CUSD Who says you can’t play and learn? Over 60 CUSD teachers went through a training with Lego Education on the company’s robotics kits this week. Now the teachers can incorporate the models into their STEAM education curriculum.           Jason Efstathiou is a self-described grinder. His Jason Efstathiou is a self-described grinder. His strength and tenacity always helped him on the basketball court, and benefitted him the most when battling treatment-induced neuropathy of diabetes. This year, he led the San Juan Hills Boys Basketball team to its best season ever, winning the Division 2A CIF Southern Section championship.

          Two SJHHS seniors share their love of marine life Two SJHHS seniors share their love of marine life with local children with the help of a fellowship from the Dragon Kim Foundation. Gabriella Zuniga and Alex Bryan are interning at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point this summer, and with help from the fellowship, have been able to teach more than 100 kids from Santa Ana incredible lessons about the ocean, sea life and more.

          Su Kara graduated from Capo Valley earlier this mo Su Kara graduated from Capo Valley earlier this month and will attend Stanford in the Fall. She is one of just 300 top scholars honored by the Society for Science with the Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar award, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors that provides students with the opportunity to present original research and celebrates the novel accomplishments of young scientists who bring fresh perspectives to significant global challenges.
