Districtwide Robotics Team Wins 1st Place at L.A. Regionals

The districtwide robotics team (Robot Dolphins from Outer Space) won 1st place at the 2019 L.A. Regional FIRST Robotics Competition.

The FIRST Robotics Competition provides an educational and engineering environment for students to learn skills that aid in future job placement, bringing out the competitiveness of life with the fun of learning.

During the competition, high school teams compete on a special playing field with robots they’ve built, designed and programmed. The event combines the action of a major league sporting event and the rhythm of a rock concert, but with a mechanical engineering twist! Students learn skills that aid in future job placement.

The Robot Dolphins from Outer Space team is made up of students from ANHSTealTown, Capistrano Valley High School, Dana Hills High School, San Clemente High School, San Juan Hills High School, Tesoro High School and Laguna Beach High School.

The team now qualifies for the World Championships for the second year in a row with the next stop in Houston.
