Capistrano Unified School District celebrated Red Ribbon Week October 23 – October 31, supported by our Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE) Grant. This event aimed to encourage students to live drug-free and was packed with exciting activities across both middle and high schools.
Highlights of the Week:
- Poster Contests: Students showcased their creativity and understanding of the dangers of drugs through artistic expressions in poster contests.
- Dress-Up Days: Each day featured themes promoting drug-free living and school spirit.
- Jump Rope Contests & Spike Out Vaping Spike Ball Tournaments: These physically engaging activities not only promoted fitness but also served as metaphors for staying clear of drug use.
- Trivia Games: Students tested their knowledge about drug prevention and health in fun, competitive trivia challenges.
- Interactive Demonstrations: Hands-on demonstrations provided practical insights into the effects and dangers of drug use.
- Social Media Posts: Student created media blasts promoting healthy choices
- Drug Education Assemblies: Educational assemblies were conducted to emphasize the importance of staying drug-free and making healthy choices.
Through these activities, Red Ribbon Week successfully engaged students, raised awareness about the dangers of drug use, and fostered an environment of health and wellness within our community.
