Paraeducators create holiday wonderland at Marco Forster
When you walk into the front office at Marco Foster Middle School this month, you are transported into a winter wonderland rarely found in South Orange County. There are snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, Christmas lights across the windows and desks, a Christmas tree adorned with roadrunners, and a full Christmas village. There is even a fireplace with a mantle to display holiday cards. The renovations weren’t funded by a school bond or generous donation, however. The holiday decor is courtesy of the school’s paraeducators, who dedicated their personal time and resources to spreading some holiday cheer.
Para-educator III Mary Johnson spearheaded the mission to decorate the campus seasonally and showcase student work and art. Throughout the year, the bulletin boards in the school hallways have been carefully curated to feature student creations in a theme of the season. Christmas was no exception, with a Chemist Tree made of the elements on the periodic table and a friendship tree made of handprints with ornaments featuring student pictures.
A special thanks to all of the staff members who donated their time and effort for the decorations.
