Last Friday, Fred Newhart Middle School held an 8th Grade Spectacular Celebration to commemorate the conclusion of the school year and their 421 eighth-grade students’ final moments as Newhart Panthers.
Themed “Fire and Ice,” the drive-through celebration was a huge success. Teachers dressed to the theme, carried banners and signs, and presented their students with promotion certificates and awards.
To make the night even more exciting, students were given passes to Universal Studios and could drive past the In-N-Out truck to grab a burger on their way out.
Capistrano Unified Trustee Judy Bullockus also joined in the fun, energizing teachers and students alike.
The event was a “huge success,” said seventh grade Newhart science teacher Stan Abe. “It was great seeing the camaraderie and spirit.”
