MIP students win national Chinese awards

Several Capistrano Valley students in the Mandarin Immersion Program won national awards this semester.

The Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools (CLASS) helds its 2nd Annual National Chinese Talent Contest in March. This is a vibrant event where K-12 students are empowered to showcase their talents in Chinese language and culture. Students submit original performances in six categories: singing, dancing, instruments, arts, sports and language. The students were able to showcase their talents with materials that connected to their Chinese heritage and lessons from the program. In all, 22 MIP students were recognized.
