Hidden Hills music program receives new instruments from Philharmonic Society of Orange County

The music program at Hidden Hills revamped its instrument supply, thanks to a Strike Up the Band grant from the Philharmonic Society of Orange County. On Friday, Oct. 10, the Philharmonic Society delivered a bundle of new instruments for the fourth and fifth grade students which came from a $10,000 grant awarded to block music teacher Kory Wentzel.

Strike Up The Band is a grant program by the Philharmonic Society of Orange County that aims to foster the appreciation of music within our community’s youth and create a meaningful impact on school music programs through the granting of musical instruments and teaching materials. The purpose of the grant is to enhance and grow existing music programs, support the creation of new music programs, or aid in the transition to online learning.

The new instrument inventory included 22 violins, seven trumpets, six clarinets, 3 trombones and two flutes.
