As the school year winds down, seniors are enjoying their final days before graduation, while underclassmen are already beginning to explore their college options. Recently, Futureology, our college and career counseling team, organized a college tour for a group of CUSD students, marking a step in their higher education journey.
On April 18th and 19th, Futureology orchestrated a two-day trip to provide firsthand experience of college life. A total of 38 students, from high schools within CUSD, had the opportunity to participate, based on a selection process connected to criteria linked to the A-G Completion Improvement Grant.
The itinerary was planned to expose students to a diverse set of college campuses, including UC Santa Barbara, CSU Channel Islands, Loyola Marymount University, UCLA, and Cal State Long Beach, offering students a glimpse into the offerings of each institution.
Throughout the tour, students were encouraged to picture themselves as part of campus life and reflected on the role of A-G completion in college admissions, fostering a deeper understanding of the pathway to higher education.
The college tour not only provided invaluable exposure to various college environments but also empowered students to make informed decisions about their academic futures.
