  • Organic Magenta Dragon Fruit from Dickinson Family Farms in Fallbrook, CA (elementary only)
  • Organic Cortland Apples from Dickinson Family Farms in Julian, CA (elementary only)
  • Organic Macoun Apples from Dickinson Family Farms in Julian, CA (elementary only)
  • Organic Valencia Oranges from Dickinson Family Farms in Fallbrook, CA (elementary only)

Elementary students tried a freshly made Ultimate Turkey & Cheese Sandwich to celebrate National Sandwich Day on November 3. The sandwich included all natural oven roasted turkey without nitrites or nitrates, freshly baked Amish-style bread from Sadie Rose Baking Co. in Oceanside, sliced cheese, green leaf lettuce, and tomato. Elementary students also tried a new recipe to celebrate Diwali – Coconut Chickpea Curry. This plant-based side recipe was made from scratch in the central kitchen and featured chickpeas cooked with coconut milk, curry, spices, onion, garlic, tomatoes, and lime. 

 

High school students tried the new Fall Turkey Burger featuring locally baked potato brioche bun from Sadie Rose Baking Co., all-Natural turkey patty, organic green leaf lettuce, tomato, red onion, and blue cheese dressing.

In December, we look forward to:

  • Organic Baby Spinach used in salads.
  • Organic Tangerines.
  • Chicken Fajitas with Brown Rice on the elementary menu featuring chicken fajita strips, brown rice, onion, and bell pepper.
  • Grass Fed Regenerative Beef Hot Dog on Pretzel Bun on the elementary menu featuring a grass fed beef hot dog from Cream Co Meats (Oakland butchery that distributes meat from over 20 sustainable, regenerative and family-owned farms) and freshly baked pretzel bun from Sadie Rose Baking Co. in Oceanside.
  • Beef Bulgogi with Rice on the elementary menu featuring sliced beef with a sweet and tangy sauce and brown rice.
  • Roasted Chicken Drumstick with Gravy & Roll on the elementary menu featuring Mary’s air-chilled chicken.
  • Roasted Cinnamon Apple Cobbler on the elementary breakfast menu featuring fire roasted Fuji apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon with a baked cobbler crust on top.
  • Pepper Jack and Mozzarella Grilled Cheese on the middle school menu featuring whole grain bread, pepper jack cheese and mozzarella cheese.
