Dana Hills High School’s graduates celebrated a major life milestone on May 30 during their commencement ceremony in the school’s stadium in front of friends, family members, and supporters.
Dana Hills graduates walked into the stadium to “Pomp and Circumstance” played by the Dana Hills Symphonic Orchestra and conducted by James Caestecker. ASU President Sophie Miller led the Pledge of Allegiance, and the National Anthem as well as “In My Life” by the Beatles were both performed SOCSA Jazz Choir, conducted by Ray Medina.
Assistant Principal of Guidance Ashley Ortiz welcomed the audience to this momentous ceremony, and then diplomas were presented to the graduates by CUSD Board Trustees Amy Hanacek and Dr. Gary Prichard, and by Dr. Greg Merwin, CUSD Associate Superintendent of Education & Support Services.
The commencement speakers were Elle Waske, Aidan McCormick, Emily Perez, and Sofie Miller. Senior Class President Grace Willard led the turning of the tassel.
