CUSD held its inaugural middle school flag football tournaments last week, with the north and south middle schools competing at Newhart and the TK-8 middle schools playing at Vista Del Mar. Flag football is the latest sport in the intramural program for middle schools, joining soccer, volleyball and basketball.
Each CUSD middle school held tournaments at lunch to select representatives for each grade level and gender to send to the District tournaments. The North/South tournament featured Aliso Viejo, Bernice Ayer, Don Juan Avila, Ladera Ranch, Marco Forster, Newhart, Niguel Hills and Shorecliffs. The TK-8 tournament featured Arroyo Vista, Carl Hankey, Esencia, Las Flores and Vista Del Mar.
Congratulations to all of the champions, and all of the participants for a fantastic first tournament.
