Capistrano Valley High School sent its graduates off in style during the 2024 commencement ceremony held in the school stadium on May 30.
Graduates entered the stadium to the CVHS Symphony Orchestra performing “Pomp and Circumstance” by composer Edward Elgar, led by Director Andy Waldukat. Principal John Misustin welcomed the graduates and the audience to the ceremony, and Senior Class President Cara Sowa led the Pledge of Allegiance. The two also led the changing of the tassels after diplomas were presented by Gila Jones of the Board of Trustees.
The CVHS Camerata and Tapestry Choirs performed the National Anthem, “Good Riddance” (Time of Your Life) by Green Day, and the CVHS Alma Mater. Commencement addresses were given by graduates Scholar of Scholars Natalie La, Cougar of the Year Dominic Phan, Lilian Dinger, and Dylan Fingersh.
