The second annual CUSD Special Olympics competition was held at San Juan Hills High School on Wednesday, with hundreds of athletes hitting the field at the Badlands for the Stallion Olympics. Special education students from all six CUSD high schools took part in a variety of special events, cheered on by teachers, and student and parent volunteers. The event opened with Paul Freeman singing the national anthem, then performances by the San Clemente Triton Sparkle cheer squad and the San Juan Hills dance team.
The athletes then rotated through different activities in groups, including sprints, long jump, softball toss, mini hoop basketball and lawn games.
