Arroyo Vista International Festival celebrates cultural beauty of community

Arroyo Vista students once again took a trip around the world for the second annual AV International Festival—traveling across continents in less than an hour during the school’s vibrant cultural celebration.

Held over two days in the school’s MPR, this year’s festival built on the excitement of its inaugural event, featuring expanded displays that highlighted the rich diversity of the Arroyo Vista community. Students explored the traditions and heritage of more than a dozen nations, experiencing a colorful showcase of global cultures without ever leaving campus.

Created by the Arroyo Vista PTSA, the event was designed to unite the entire school community while honoring the many backgrounds represented among AV families. Once again, families enthusiastically signed up to host booths celebrating their heritage. Each display featured engaging visuals and artifacts, along with information about the country’s history, geography, landmarks, music, and traditional foods.

Parents volunteered as docents, many dressed in traditional attire, bringing each country’s story to life as student groups rotated through the MPR. Their interactive presentations encouraged questions, sparked curiosity, and gave students a deeper appreciation for the customs and traditions that make up their own school community.
