Aliso Niguel senior Duncan Carvalho was driving south on Alicia Parkway Monday evening when he noticed some smoke billowing up from the hillside. He quickly pulled to the side of the road safely and walked in closer to investigate. The header of the fire was noticeable through the tops of the brush, prompting him to call 911. Authorities from the OC Fire Department and the OC Sheriffs arrived on the scene quickly to contain the fire safely in under an hour.

Thanks to Duncan’s keen eye and quick action, a potential disaster was easily averted.
