By the numbers: How CUSD has provided safe learning during COVID

Since the pandemic first hit Orange County and schools were shut down in March, the Capistrano Unified School District has gone to great lengths and costs to ensure the health and safety of its students, teachers and staff.

Whether it was supplying gallons of hand sanitizer to schools, or purchasing tables and chairs for outdoor classrooms, or upgrading HVAC filters for increased filtration, CUSD has spent more than $24 million in CARES Act funds to allow students and teachers to return to campus and continue rigorous learning – safely.

Here are just some of the upgrades made by the district, by the numbers:
