For the seventh year, CUSD partnered with Irvine-based Families Forward to provide 150 Thanksgiving meals to families in the District. Bags with non-perishable Thanksgiving food items and gift cards for Turkeys were distributed to families in need at the District Office on Wednesday, November 16. Members of EverDriven, a provider of alternative student transportation for the District, were also on hand to hand out items.
The families receiving the food items were identified by the school site Bilingual Community Liaisons, and will also be a part of the Families Forward adopt-a-family program in December for Holiday gifts.
