2026 CUSD Cares Middle School Intramural Basketball Tournament

The third annual CUSD Cares Middle School Basketball Tournament brought energy, excitement, and friendly competition to campuses across the district, engaging hundreds of middle school students in a celebration of teamwork and school pride.

Each middle school hosted its own on-campus tournaments during lunch periods, where students competed to earn boys and girls championship titles at every grade level. These school champions then advanced to the next stage of competition, joining teams from across the district in a series of three regional “pod” tournaments to compete for the title of District intramural champion.

Regional tournaments were hosted by Aliso Niguel, San Juan Hills, and Tesoro high schools, creating a unique opportunity for younger students to play on high school courts. High school varsity boys and girls basketball players played an important role in the event’s success, volunteering their time as referees and scorekeepers while also serving as positive role models for the middle school athletes.

The tournament not only highlighted athletic skill, but also fostered sportsmanship, connection, and community across campuses, reinforcing the spirit of CUSD Cares.
