CUSD breaks ground on new home for Capistrano Valley Cougars

The official groundbreaking for the updated Capistrano Valley High School stadium was held on Wednesday, May 28. CUSD Trustees, Mission Viejo city councilmembers, District officials, and Capo Valley coaches and students turned the dirt at the site as construction crews started work on the new home of the Cougars.

Demolition of the old stadium bleachers and buildings took place over the winter, paving the way for a renovation project that will finish in the summer of 2026, just in time for the 2026-27 school year. When completed, the stadium will feature brand-new bleachers, a press box with elevator access, a modern concession building, weight room, team rooms, updated ticket booths, enhanced fencing, and a state-of-the-art sound system. The track will be resurfaced and striped, and the field turf will be replaced.

You can see renderings of the new stadium on the CUSD Constructions Projects webpage.
