The CUSD Mandarin Immersion Program celebrated the Lunar New Year with special events and performances. The MIP Ambassadors from Marian Bergeson performed traditional Chinese Dance routines at the Lunar New Year celebrations at the Outlets at San Clemente and the Shops at Mission Viejo. The 3rd and 5th grade students showcased their skills on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate the Year of the Snake.
Fred Newhart Middle School had a week-long celebration with a Lion Dance, kung fu performance, calligraphy lessons and Chinese games and foods.

Capistrano Valley High School hosted its annual Chinese Culture Night on Feb. 7. The celebration featured dance and music performances by the students, and recognition of the newest members of the National Chinese Honor Society.
