Cox Communications and the Los Angeles Angels Foundation presented Classroom Connections grants to two CUSD schools this week- Hidden Hills Elementary and Carl Hankey TK-8. Each school held a special assembly with a meet and greet with an Angels player to commemorate the special $2,000 gifts.
Hidden Hills welcomed Angels outfielder Jordyn Adams to campus, and he spoke about the importance of following your dreams and preparing for success. Hankey was visited by Angels infielder Eric Wagaman, who was recently called up to the Big Leagues and graduated from Aliso Niguel High School in 2015. Wagaman shared how his teachers, coaches and parents were a vital part of his success as a baseball player.
Cox Communications partnered with the Angels Baseball Foundation in 2020 to create the Classrooms Connections program. In addition to the $2,000 STEM grant, each student and faculty member were provided with up to four Angels game tickets and each school was given a Classroom Connections banner. The Hankey students attended the game Tuesday night against the White Sox, and saw Wagaman hit his second-career home run.
