Last night at a special closed meeting of the Board of Trustees, the Board voted 4-3 to release Superintendent Vital Brulte from her contract effective December 31, 2022. It is important to emphasize that the action taken was not for cause. The District’s contract with the Superintendent, like most contracts with school district superintendents, contains provisions that allow either party to terminate the contract before it expires, without cause. We are grateful for Superintendent Vital Brulte’s leadership and we wish her the best in her future endeavors.
We want to assure our students, employees, and families that this will not affect the extraordinary work of our teachers, classified staff, and administrators who provide an excellent instructional program every day. On January 1, 2023, Deputy Superintendent Clark Hampton will assume the role of Interim Superintendent while the District engages in the recruitment and hiring process for our next leader. We will share more information with you as we move through this process in the new year.
Sincerely,
Krista Castellanos
President
